These terms govern your use of Plateworthy (“we”, “us”) at plateworthy.co.uk. By using the site or buying a report you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
We provide a free vehicle check (identity, MOT history and a mileage-anomaly flag) and a paid full history report (finance, write-off, theft markers, keeper and plate history, and technical spec). Our interpretation and guidance are exactly that, guidance, and are not a recommendation to buy or not buy any vehicle.
Our MOT and vehicle history data comes from third-party sources. We pass that data on as a dated snapshot. Records can be incomplete, delayed or later corrected; unconfirmed checks are shown as unavailable. A report does not establish mechanical condition or every unreported incident. We do not offer a separate financial data guarantee. This does not remove your statutory rights if the content we supply is faulty or not as described. Always inspect a vehicle in person and verify its documents before purchase.
A full report or valuation is digital content delivered immediately. Checkout requires you to expressly request immediate supply and acknowledge that you lose the 14-day cancellation right once generation begins. We record that confirmation and repeat it in your order email. Buying a credit pack does not generate a report. We ask for this confirmation separately each time you spend a credit.
A valuation is an optional £1.99 purchase after your £4.99 history report. It provides available indicative values, not a guaranteed sale price or offer. If no usable valuation can be delivered, the add-on payment is refunded.
If we take payment but are ultimately unable to deliver your report, we queue a full refund to the original payment method. Your bank may take additional time to show it. A change-of-mind cancellation is not normally available after digital supply has begun with your express consent. This does not affect remedies required by law for faulty or misdescribed digital content, which may include repair, replacement or an appropriate price reduction. Contact us if your report has a problem. You may cancel an entirely unused credit pack within 14 days by emailing admin@plateworthy.co.uk with the checkout email and order date. Once any credit has been used, only the unused portion remains eligible where required by law.
We are responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of our breach of contract or failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits your statutory consumer rights, liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
You may use the service to check vehicles you have a legitimate interest in. You must not scrape, resell or bulk-extract our data, or use the service unlawfully.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK, you also retain any mandatory protections and rights to bring proceedings in your local courts.
See the official guidance on consumer rights for digital content. To request cancellation of an unused pack, email admin@plateworthy.co.uk with your checkout email, order date and a clear statement that you wish to cancel. You can save or print these terms for your records.
